Project Linus of Mercer CountyThis is a featured page

The Mercer County Chapter of Project Linus was initiated in November of 2005. The Chapter provides blankets to children in need in the Mercer County area.

As of April 2011 , 3,423 Blankets have been donated by Project Linus Mercer County Chapter to:

Our Neighbors in Alabama- 25 blankets were shipped to support victims of the tornadoes and storms that devastated the southern states. Our prayers for recovery are with our friends and "neigbors" in the south.

Blankets for Japan - This month the Mercer County Chapter sent 150 blankets to Soldiers Angels in Texas. They are part of a 10,000 blanket donation being made to Japan by Project Linus chapters across the country! Thank You Mercer County Chapter Volunteers!

Operation Fallen Heroes: This month our chapter gave blankets to the widow and children of Sgt. Keith Buzinski of Hamilton, who was killed in Afghanistan on April 7. Please go to the link below for the article about this brave young man who gave his life serving his country:

  • Operation Fallen Heroes (blankets are given to children of solders killed in the war)
  • Christian Aid Ministries for the Children of Haiti
  • 50th Brigade of the Army National Guard
  • Angel’s Wings and Anchor House
  • Capital Health System Hospitals, Mercer and Helene Fuld Campuses (Pediatric and Neo-natal Units)
  • Children's Home Society
  • Homefront, New Jersey (Cherry Tree Club and Hutchet House)
  • Mercer House
  • Operation Homefront (serving families of members of the Military)
  • Parent and Child Centers, supported by Mercer Street Friends in Trenton
  • Rainbow House (A Project of Lifeties, Inc)
  • Family Preservation Center of Homefront
  • Family Preservation House
  • Raritan Pregnancy Aid Center

Most of these organizations serve children through teens, so please consider making blankets appropriate for boys and girls ages 5-18!
