Blanket- Making Events

Bring a finished blanket, a work in progress, a donation to Project Linus or pay for an "instant quilt kit" or buy a piece of fleece and finish a blanket in a day!

Our goal is to have 150 blankets to send to the children of Haiti!!! (part of a 10,000 blanket donation from Project Linus groups across the country)
So come, knit, stitch, and help us send gifts of love to the children of Haiti.

Project Linus Mercer County Chapter, was initiated in November of 2005. The Chapter provides blankets to children in need in the Mercer County area.
As of December 2009, 2,248 Blankets have been donated by Project Linus Mercer County Chapter to:

  • Operation Fallen Heroes (blankets are given to children of solders killed in the war)
  • 50th Brigade of the Army National Guard
  • Angel’s Wings and Anchor House
  • Capital Health System Hospitals, Mercer and Helene Fuld Campuses (Pediatric and Neo-natal Units)
  • Children's Home Society
  • Homefront, New Jersey (Cherry Tree Club and Hutchet House)
  • Mercer House
  • Operation Homefront (serving families of members of the Military)
  • Parent and Child Centers, supported by Mercer Street Friends in Trenton
  • Rainbow House (A Project of Lifeties, Inc)
  • Family Preservation Center of Homefront
  • Family Preservation House
  • Raritan Pregnancy Aid Center

Most of these organizations serve children through teens, so please consider making blankets appropriate for boys and girls ages 5-18!

Please let us know if there is an organization in the Mercer County area that would like to receive blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized or have other needs.
